Yes, I already have a relay installed to power the video module and DVD player. Power comes from CDC power wire connectors. The video module consumers 750ma and the DVD player consumes 1.5 amps. There is enough power on the CD changer power wiring to drive the video module and DVD player.

I have a 2011 335i with the new combox and was hoping I had it, but everything I've read says no "dice" without the Navi/iDrive.

2 Answers. Sorted by: 1. According to installation instructions for a cd changer retrofit on an E90 linked here, yes you will need to code the car for it. Coding the car will require an INPA OBD2 cable (purchased on Amazon, eBay, etc.) and the appropriate BMW progman software.

The cables going to the back of the trunk that connect to the cd changer (there is a green cable, a corrugated one, and a brown and red cable), have no visible problem, i tested the voltage going to the brown and red cable and i am getting 4.2 volts, with ignition on. I don't think that the cd changer works with 4.2 volts?

The LCD display on my radio/cd player works great for the first 30 minutes or so, then it begins to fade out in vertical lines. That might work, mine does it all the time doesn't go and come.
